The act of play is about discovery, involving many lines of investigation, many right answers, and a nonlinear time line. Visual play makes use of our highly developed sense of sight to observe, question, and manipulate objects in our world. Each project in Play Math reinforces the connection between visual experiences and abstract symbolic representations. The goal is to explore ways of revealing mathematical patterns that may be more beautiful, more transparent, more understandable, more surprising, and more illuminating.
